Fuurin tree in Ginza

I went to Ginza to get music sheets at Yamaha. But there was no Yamaha building there because of under reconstruction. So, I went to Yamano instead. Fortunately, I could find the music sheets what exactly I had wanted.

After that, I went to grand piano section in the same building. They have middle size of Stainway & Sons, Bosendorfer and Bechstein. They're indeed great pianos. You can hardly evaluate brand new pianos because they're still sleeping. They will awake in a couple years and then you will know their character. You can only wait and see - que sera sera.

The picture of bunch of Fuurin was taken when I was walking along a big street in Ginza. I like them. But where can I get a nice Fuurin?

Telling the jokes

I took my first Odyssey lesson on Saturday. The title of the lesson was funny, 'Telling the jokes'. Most students tell me it's very tough to find English jokes. But it reminds me lots of funny stories at my English lessons. I have been studying English at an English school over five years. I ever remember I couldn't understand what was going on at the classes during the initial several months. The more I studied, the more I would be able to understand what was going on at the classes. During the five years, I made a lot of horrible, boneheaded and embarrassed mistakes. I also encountered funny mistakes by others as well.

Scene1:
New teacher: Hi it's nice to meet you!
A student: Nice to meet you too!
New teacher: Do you ever smoke?
A student: Sorry, I didn't get it. I don't understand English that much.
New teacher: Ah- I mean...
A student: Oh! I just understood what you meant. Yeah, just when I am on fire!

Scene2:
A teacher: I hear soapbox speeches of election campaign in the downtown these days.
A student: There is an election of a mayor this weekend.
A teacher: I see. Everybody is going to go vote for the election?
A student: Yeah, I will have an erection tomorrow morning!

Scene 3: (Encounter 1-19)
A teacher: Now, let's practice describing the symptoms with your partner.
Student A: What seems to be the problem today?
Student B: I have a runny nose.
Student A: That's too bad. You'd better catch it right away!

Now I take two classes in a week. My new teacher and new classmates are friendly and chatty. I think I can enjoy many kinds of mistakes in the classes more than before!
